School...
... is kicking my arse! I guess I thought an online class wasn't going to be so much work but I was wrong. I forgot to take into account that the classes are only 6 weeks long. It took my dad giving me a mental shove to get myself together. He said "What did you think? It was going to be a cakewalk?". I was like "Yea I guess because it's online I didn't think it would be so intense". Well I think I have my act together now. I had a paper due today. We don't have tests in this class. Just a BUNCH of papers. We have team projects as well. I don't really like that aspect because it's hard enough to get a group together in traditional school without each member being in a different time zone! It's going to be annoying. I can see it already. We have alot of reading to do but oddly enough it is very interesting. The chapters are long but very informative and ooze relevant information. I usually print out my chapters at the library here on base because they don't charge us to print. It's supposed to be limited to 15 pages per day per person so I get my husband to come with me so he can print out the extra 15 pages for me lol.

My Thanksgiving
I noticed I haven't posted in awhile so I decided to do so. Thanksgiving was great. All of my food came out perfect except for my Turtle Pie. For some reason the Turtle Pie wasn't solid after being in the fridge for like 30 hrs. It kind of slid everywhere. The texture was kind of funny as well. I didn't even bring it out to eat. lol. My husband's classmates were 2 very unique individuals. The guy I will refer to as Lucky was nice, sociable, polite and had a great appetite. The guy I will refer to as Ricky was very...different to say the least. He had a weird method of eating but ate all of his food and went back for seconds. He took about 1-2 minutes to answer a question if you asked him something. I thought he was slow as in Mentally special but he HAS to be intelligent for him to be in my husband's class learning Chinese. Actually my husband said he was the most Brilliant person he has ever met. Now THAT is saying something because my husband is no academic slouch himself. Both of my guests were very nice and pleasant, said the food was great and took to-go plates.

Thanksgiving Eve.
I did alot of running around today. I had to get a few last minute ingredients, a 12 qt pot and foam plates so my 2 dinner guests can take plates home if they wish. I was upset at first when I went to the commissary because they had sweet potatoes for .49 cents a lb but on last Sunday they were .39 cents a lb. I quickly realized why their price was increased. The yams were fresh and larger :0.
Ok so I have most of my items on my Thanksgiving menu cooked. My cake is in the oven now and it has rose like 2 inches lol. I hope it doesn't overflow the pan because that would be horrible.
My hubby doesn't feel well. He is congested and his head hurts. I have been giving him medicine all day so we can try and get this cold under wraps before it gets out of control. Plus we have 2 dinner guests tomorrow and he needs to feel well to entertain. I will be the only female at my house so that is going to suck but I will have to make the most of it. This is my first Thanksgiving away from my mom and dad and it's going to be tough for me. Well I need to check on my cake.

My Day
Soooo I didn't make it to Zumba today. I've been doing so well but I just had way too much to do today. I love Zumba. It's fun so you don't even realize that you're working out. Our instructor is very energetic and involved.
Our belongings were damaged during the move to CA so the woman that does the claim inspection of the items called today and said she would be here Wednesday so she can do the inspection.
CA has this awful CRV tax on all soft drink purchases and I went to recycle my items just to find the recycle kiosk closed. It's really a waste of time but I may as well try and get back a few pennies since CA charges you anyhow. The kiosk weighs your items and then you get paid a few dollars for your trouble. Almost not worth the gas to go.
I am starting my Master's on Dec. 1. I am going for my Master's in Management with a concentration in Public Adminstration. I am attending online through Univ of Phoenix. I figure with this military lifestyle it's best to go to a school I can take anywhere in the world with me. I thought about going to CSU-Monterey Bay but they only admit Grad students in the fall and I needed to start in the spring. It worked out for the best because I know online is best for my lifestyle.
I go on December 5th at 8:30 am to take the Social Worker I Written Exam. I hope this works out for me because I want to work in this field and I also have a passion for what the job entails. I don't particularly care for standardized tests but I will do my best and go in there with a positive attitude. The pay is pretty good also for an entry level position!
I have almost completed my Thanksgiving day shopping. I just need to get yams, vanilla extract and cinnamon for my sweet potato bake. After that I will be done and ready to cook starting on Wednesday.

Another restless night...
I am an Insomniac. I just can't help it. I wish I could sleep at night but I have to be exhasuted to do so. Anywho I have been meaning to start a blog for 2 years now. I always set it up but I never make postings. I am going to try and keep this thing going :-)! I have so much to say and so many opinions on everything so I need to have another source wher I can vocalize my thoughts instead of being reduced to 140 characters (twitter) or updating my status that people may or may not respond to (facebook). If people don't respond to my thoughts on facebook I feel sort of unpopular! Ha! So if I have this blog it is more for myself than anyone else but if others read it that's great!
I want to see "Precious" so bad! I have to wait forever because I'm in the sticks (figuratively) and it's not coming here. The hubby and I are going to go to San Jose this weekend to see it. I will be bringing my tissues.
Of course I want to see New Moon but I have yet to go. It just came out this past Friday and I know it was screaming teenage girls going gaga over Jacob or Edward so I have decided to wait just a week or two to see it.
Thanksgiving is this week and I am making my first Thanksgiving dinner for myself, my lovely husband and 2 of his classmates. One of his classmates is diabetic and I am kind of worried about that because he doesn't have a mild case...he carries insulin everywhere so I hear. This is one of 2 days during the year when I am not going to monitor my caloric, sugar, and cholesterol intake. The other day being Christmas. I have a pretty extensive menu as well. I am making a turkey (obviously), Stuffing, pasta salad, Mac N Cheese in the crock pot, Broccli, Creamy Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Corn, lasagna, my world famous sweet potatoe bake and dinner rolls. We ordered a Honey Baked Ham due to be here Wednesday. My sweet potato bake is to die for! I am going to post the recipe for it this week. I am excited as well as nervous! What if his friends think my cooking is nasty?! I'll feel so bad. I hope that won't happen.
I watch alot of TV. I am so guilty of it but I can't seem to help myself! I have a long list of shows that I cannot miss and if I do I am a very unhappy person! (In no particular order) Law and Order SVU, American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, Chelsea Lately, America's Next Top Model, Survivor, The Cleveland Show, GLEE, Cake Boss....just to name a few. I figure I balance it out because I read ALOT.
Well I need to attempt sleep. Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow to update.
